What is ArtisanMarket?

It is a collection of workshops and private consulting services that grew from Sharon's  experience in sales and marketing in retail and corporate settings as well as 18 years experience as a professional art jeweler.

Your basic workshop is three sessions. Why do I need to take all of them?

If you were to pick and choose the information you think you need it would be like learning to drive without knowing where the gas pedal is or how to read the road signs. The 3 sessions are designed to build on one another and work together to give you the most comprehensive learning experience.

You will learn by getting information, learning how to apply it to YOUR specific work and situation and then have the opportunity to bounce ideas and plans off your fellow attendees and the instructor.

After I take the workshop, am I all on my own?

All workshop attendees will be able to take advantage of a one hour tele-conference with your instructor after completing the workshop. In addition, one-on-one consulting, either on-site (in your studio, in your booth before a show) or at TheSTUDIO, is available anytime. Ask your instructor about details.

What Past Attendees Are Saying About ArtisanMarket

" I am what is politely called a 'seasoned veteran' and it was highly valuable to me. Learning better priceing will have this class paying for itself... " - Stefani Tadio"I am definately on the opposite end of the spectrum - pretty much a newbie at this artisan business, but it was highly valuable to me as well. Not only for pricing info (which was very eye-opening) but for guidance on inventory mix, things to track for taxes, jury photos, booth setup, et. etc. etc."   - Cheryl Williams

This Workshop is taught by Sharon Jeter, professional artist and educator.
My professional experience started in the areas of sales and marketing in both the retail and corporate world while my educational background is in secondary education and social work. In 1998 I began making jewelry in a small studio in my home. After a friend asked if I would put some of my work in her shop, I was excited and anxious to make a significant life change and take my work to the next level. Over the next fifteen years, I built my business traveling the northeast participating in numerous fine craft shows and festivals. Along the way I established a work-space in the Anderson Arts Building where I founded TheSTUDIO, an art cooperative that serves as home for three other resident artists. It is here, in Rochester NY’s Neighborhood of the Arts, that we create and show our work as well as offer classes and workshops. I feel fortunate to be able to blend my work and education with my creative nature and I am as passionate about sharing my experiences and knowledge with others as I am about my work. I am also proud that several of my students have gone on to run their own successful businesses.
